Dune: Awakening Console Pre-Load Is Live Ahead of September 17 Head Start

Dune: Awakening players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox can start pre-loading ahead of the console head start on September 17. The early access period is for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners, with the full console launch set for September 22, 2026.

Funcom has also shared the official console server lineup, so groups can pick the same World before launch. Worlds are split by platform and region, including Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Oceania. North America is further separated across Los Angeles, Dallas, and Virginia regions.

In Dune: Awakening, a World contains multiple Sietches, which are individual servers tied to the same Deep Desert and social hubs. Each Sietch has its own persistent version of Hagga Basin, so choosing the same World and server matters if you’re trying to start alongside friends.

The console release includes support for Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere. Funcom is also rolling out a PC update on September 17 alongside the console head start. That patch will be larger than usual, and the studio says players with slower connections should expect a longer download.

Servers will be down for maintenance from 10:00 CEST to 14:00 CEST while the update is deployed.

For anyone jumping in fresh, Dune: Awakening is Funcom’s survival MMO set on Arrakis in an alternate Dune timeline where Paul Atreides was never born. Players gather water, craft gear, build bases, fight over spice, and try not to get eaten by sandworms. Normal day on Arrakis, basically.
