AION 2 Opens a Two-Day Server Test on September 17
NC is opening AION 2 for a short Launch Scale Test on September 17 and 18, giving everyone a chance to log in before Founder’s Pack Early Access begins on September 30.
The test is mainly about server and infrastructure prep, so don’t expect a full launch-style preview. It’ll be available through Steam and PURPLE, with pre-download starting at 6 a.m. PT on September 16 and running until 6 a.m. PT on September 17.
- The test is open to everyone. No keys, invites, or registration list required.
- Day 1 runs from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, September 17.
- Day 2 runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. PT on Friday, September 18.
- Progress carries from Day 1 to Day 2, but everything is wiped after the test.
- No purchases will be available. The shop, Quna, passes, memberships, and payment portals will be turned off.
- The marketplace, Quna exchange, and player-to-player trading will also be disabled.
- The level cap is 37, which means higher-level content won’t be available.
- Founder’s Pack items and the Closet feature won’t be available during the test.
Steam players will need to uninstall the Playtest App after the test and download AION 2 separately for Advanced Access on September 30. PURPLE players won’t need to take any extra steps, according to NC.
AION 2 is NC’s Unreal Engine 5 follow-up to AION, with flight again playing a major role, including in combat. The publisher is also touting a much larger world, large-scale PvE, more than 200 dungeons, raids, the Abyss, and expanded character customization.
