Diablo Immortal Brings Back Bout of Realms Ahead of BlizzCon Finals
Diablo Immortal’s cross-server Bout of Realms PvP tournament is returning with the game’s next update, which Blizzard says will be live globally by August 26. Registration opens August 27 and runs through August 30, giving teams a short window to sign up before matches begin.
According to the official update, this round of Bout of Realms will use the Tower War map. Preliminaries are being split into two phases this time, with Blizzard aiming for fewer matches overall but more meaningful matchups. Preliminaries run August 31 through September 4, followed by finals from September 7 to September 11. A third-place match is set for September 12, and the champion will be crowned during BlizzCon 2026 on September 13.
The winning team also gets a small bragging-rights perk: a custom server-wide announcement, though Blizzard says it’ll need to be reviewed and approved first.
For players who aren’t jumping into the tournament, several events are coming back alongside the update. Survivor’s Bane, Trial of the Hordes, Fractured Plane, and Wild Brawl are all returning. Winds of Fortune is back too, letting players activate a 24-hour real-time double-reward buff for most activities anytime from September 3 through September 10.
The update also adds Seething Polestar, a new 5-star Legendary Gem available through the Empowered Battle Pass. When triggered, it sends Seething Light at an enemy, damaging nearby enemies as well, with a chance for the effect to chain for more damage.
Blizzard is also changing how Legendary Gem information is displayed on the backend, with clearer stat and benefit readouts. Other quality-of-life changes include UI tweaks and a return-to-safe-zone portal for Monster Essence turn-ins.
One of the more targeted gameplay changes hits Helliquary Enrage. Rather than directly nerfing specific survivability builds, Blizzard is changing Enrage so passive damage scales over time and eventually reaches 100% of a player’s max life after 45 seconds. Shields, damage reduction, and cheat-death effects won’t stop it.
Ahead of Bout of Realms, Crusader, Druid, Monk, Tempest, Warlock, and Wizard are also getting balance changes. Blizzard has the class-by-class details in its balance patch post. The update also adds Jewel of the Desert armor and weapon cosmetics inspired by Lut Gholein.
