Blizzard Plans to Restore Make-A-Wish Quest Kyle’s Gone Missing in World of Warcraft: Forever
Blizzard is working to bring back Kyle’s Gone Missing!, the Make-A-Wish tribute quest that players noticed was absent from the World of Warcraft: Forever beta.
Community manager Kaivax confirmed the plan on the official WoW forums after players asked Blizzard to make an exception for the quest, even though Forever is based on the original Vanilla timeline. “We’re working on it. Stay tuned!” Kaivax wrote on September 28, 2026.
Kyle’s Gone Missing! was originally added during The Burning Crusade, so it wasn’t part of the early Vanilla-era content that Forever is recreating. The quest was made with Ezra Chatterton, also known as Ephoenix, through Make-A-Wish. Ezra helped design the quest and voiced Ahab Wheathoof, the Tauren NPC who asks players to feed his dog, Kyle the Frenzied, near the road to Thunder Bluff.
There’s no date yet for when Ahab, Kyle, or the questline will appear in the Forever beta, and Blizzard hasn’t said whether it’ll be ready for launch. For now, the important bit is that the omission doesn’t appear to be final.
