Black Desert Online Adds Cheongsa Island, Lyngbakr Sea Monster, and a New Guild League Season

Black Desert Online’s latest update leans hard into the ocean side of the MMO. Pearl Abyss has added Cheongsa Island, a new Land of the Morning Light location, along with the sea monster Lyngbakr and new yellow-grade Panokseon ship equipment.

Cheongsa Island is a village run by the Chorong Merchant Guild, with a local shipbuilding tradition tied into the new gear. Players can work with its artisans to craft the new top-tier Panokseon equipment, giving Great Ocean regulars another long-term upgrade target.

Out at sea, Lyngbakr is meant for more experienced players and doesn’t fight alone. It’s backed up by a pack of Lyngburks, so the encounter is built around managing the escorts as well as the main monster. Beating it can earn Lyngbakr’s Horn, which can be exchanged for materials used in yellow-grade ship equipment.

The update also brings smaller changes to Inner Edania, including the new Tachyon Legacy, monster zone adjustments, fixes, and quest tweaks.

Guild League has started a new season, running now through October 8. Pearl Abyss says it adjusted the mode based on player data, with a faster pace in mind. Matches now cap at 12 minutes, the win condition has dropped from 1,000 points to 600, and the wait before entering another match has been reduced from 30 minutes to 20.

The full breakdown, including Guild League rule changes from last season, is available in the patch notes.
