Black Temple Is Now Live in WoW Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition

Black Temple is now live in World of Warcraft Classic’s Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition, bringing Illidan Stormrage back as the main target for level 70 raiders. The update also opens The Battle for Mount Hyjal, so players have two major Burning Crusade raids to work through.

According to Blizzard’s official post, the update also adds the Netherwing daily faction hub in Shadowmoon Valley, epic gems, and the run-up to Arena Season 3.

  • Black Temple is a level 70 raid in Shadowmoon Valley, with Illidan Stormrage as the final boss.
  • The Battle for Mount Hyjal is also level 70 and takes players through the Caverns of Time to face Archimonde.
  • The Netherwing faction is now available, with daily quests on Netherwing Ledge and Netherwing Drake mounts tied to Exalted reputation.
  • Epic gems can be found through mining in Mount Hyjal with 375 Mining or as rare drops in Black Temple.
  • Arena Season 3 begins September 1 with regional weekly resets.

Both raids still have entry requirements. Black Temple requires its attunement chain, while Mount Hyjal requires completion of “The Vials of Eternity” questline. Blizzard also notes that players can build reputation with Ashtongue Deathsworn in Black Temple and Scale of the Sands in Mount Hyjal for additional rewards.

On the PvP side, Arena Season 2 ends the week of August 16 at 10:00 p.m. local time, the night before each region’s weekly reset. Any unspent Arena Points will convert to Honor Points at a 1-to-10 rate. Season 2 gear will move to Area 52 vendors at a discount with no rating requirement, while Season 1 gear will be available from Honor vendors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
