Albion Online’s Dragonfire Update Adds Dragons, Ancient Lands, and a New Raid on August 31

Albion Online is getting dragons in its next major update, Dragonfire, which launches August 31. The update adds open-world dragon attacks, a new floating-island region called the Ancient Lands, and a raid dungeon built around a fight with Azaryon, the Fire Dragon.

Dragon attacks will work differently depending on where players are. On the Royal Continent, they’ll appear as spontaneous encounters. In the Outlands, players will get advance warning, giving guilds time to rally before the attack begins. Rewards can be shared by anyone who helps take the dragon down, though Albion being Albion, other players may still be part of the problem.

The Ancient Lands will be reached through mysterious portals and spread across floating islands connected by more portals. The deeper players push in, the tougher the encounters get, with Ashborn enemies, Fire Drakes, treasure, and PvP threats along the way.

Players who make it far enough can enter the Dragon Sanctuary raid dungeon. Unlike the surrounding region, the raid itself is locked to your group, so there won’t be outside player killers interrupting the run. The dungeon’s major boss is Azaryon, and defeating it can reward Drake Eggs, which can be raised into the new Fire Drake mount.

Dragonfire will also add new craftable armor items using dragon bones and wings, a new fish from the Ancient Lands that can be used for healing food, new Albion Journal missions, lore fragments, Resource Guardians in the open world, and other changes still to be detailed.
