Soul Hunters
Soul Hunters blends side-scrolling RPG action with hero collecting and light real-time strategy. You build a roster of characters, strengthen them through upgrades and promotions, then deploy a five-hero squad through a mostly linear campaign or into competitive Arena fights. Combat is built around positioning and well-timed skill usage as you push through waves of enemies.

Soul Hunters Overview
Soul Hunters is a free-to-play side-scrolling MMORPG-style mobile RPG that sits in the same general space as games like Brave Frontier, Chain Chronicle, and League of Angels Fire Raiders. The main loop is straightforward: recruit heroes, improve them through fusing and upgrades, and then send a carefully built team through a sequence of stage-based encounters on a linear dungeon path. Each run is about managing your party’s roles and surviving enemy waves efficiently.
Team setup matters more than raw button-mashing. You can arrange heroes in a formation so that durable frontliners soak incoming damage while fragile damage dealers and support characters stay protected in the back row. In practice, success often comes down to bringing a balanced composition and knowing when to trigger Ultimates, since skill timing can swing difficult fights, especially when enemies start pressuring your frontline or threatening your backline.
The game’s collection angle is a major hook. There are over 80 heroes to obtain, and they can be acquired through campaign drops, quest rewards, or chests using in-game currency or premium cash shop currency. That variety encourages experimentation, but it also means progression can feel tied to the quality of your pulls and how much you are willing to invest in building out multiple viable lineups.

Soul Hunters Additional Information
Developer: Lilith Games
Release Date (JP): March 19, 2015
Release Date (US): June 24, 2015
Platforms: iOS, Android
Soul Hunters is developed and published by Lilith Games, a Shanghai-based mobile studio. The title originally appeared as Soul Clash and was later known as Allstar Heroes in Europe. The North American release is positioned as an updated take on the earlier version, with roughly half a year of redevelopment focused on visual changes and a reworked stat system after concerns about similarities to Blizzard-related IP.
The game’s history is also tied to a wider copycat controversy in the mobile RPG space. Around its Japan release in March 2015, some players believed it was imitating Heroes Charge. The situation was more complicated, since uCool’s Heroes Charge was widely discussed as borrowing heavily from Soul Clash, which had already been released in other parts of Asia. At the same time, Soul Clash itself drew inspiration from popular PC franchises such as Warcraft and DOTA, and once legal disputes became public, Blizzard filed suit against Lilith Games over alleged plagiarism of character artwork and gameplay systems. Valve later joined Blizzard in legal action related to copyright infringement claims.
