Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 arrives May 6, Steam release also confirmed
HoYoverse has set Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.8 for May 6. The update, called New: Eridan Sunset, wraps up Season 2 and adds two new S-Rank agents, a new enemy attribute and combat interaction, a Miyabi outfit, and a handful of system changes.
According to the official post, Version 2.8 also comes with a confirmed Steam release for the game, though this announcement did not include a specific launch date for Valve’s platform.
- Promeia joins as an S-Rank Ice Anomaly agent.
- Starlight – Billy, an upgraded version of Billy, arrives as an S-Rank Physical Rupture agent.
- Lucia and Orphie & Magus are getting reruns in the same version.
- A new Wind-based enemy attribute is being added, along with the Vortex combat mechanic.
- Hoshimi Miyabi gets a new shop outfit, Dignified Blossom.
- New events include Marcel Bootopia and Ultimate Verdict Trial.
- A Polychrome Guide feature and an auto-delete storage option are part of the update.
The biggest gameplay change looks like that new Wind interaction. HoYoverse says some enemies affected by Wind Attribute Anomaly will trigger Vortex when hit with another anomaly, replacing Disorder and causing area damage based on the added element. In practice, that sounds like a new team-building wrinkle rather than a simple stat bump.
On the event side, Marcel Bootopia has players exploring a Bangboo resort island as Eous, rescuing Bangboos and collecting rewards. Finishing it will hand out Booltergeist and its Bangboo core. Ultimate Verdict Trial, meanwhile, lets players fight alongside Promeia.
There are a couple of smaller extras outside the game, too. HoYoverse says Zenless Zone Zero soundtrack vinyl sets go up for pre-order through Laced Records on April 29. But the main takeaway here is the May 6 patch and the long-awaited confirmation that Zenless Zone Zero is also heading to Steam.
