Krafton subsidiary Bluehole is hiring for TERA 2

TERA 2 appears to be real. Bluehole Studio, a Krafton subsidiary, has started recruiting key staff for the project, confirming that a follow-up to the original MMORPG is in development.

The new game is described as a successor to TERA, the long-running MMO known for its action combat. The original PC version has already shut down, so this would mark the franchise’s return in a new form if development moves ahead as planned.

According to the recruitment details, TERA 2 is being built around the series’ non-target combat and its larger party-based monster fights. The posting also says the team wants to push that style further with newer tech and updated design. The project is reportedly using Unreal Engine 5.

Development is said to be led by Kang Sang-wook, who previously worked as a key member of the original TERA team. Reports also say the project began inside Bluehole’s R&D division before moving into broader development.

This isn’t the first time TERA 2 has come up. Its existence was reported last August, and Bluehole’s hiring push now gives that report some real backing. There’s still a lot we don’t know, including platforms, release timing, and whether this is planned as a PC MMO, a cross-platform release, or something else entirely.

For now, the main takeaway is simple: TERA 2 is in development, and Bluehole is staffing up.
