Xbox Is Bringing Original Xbox Backward Compatibility to PC and Handhelds

Xbox is expanding backward compatibility beyond console, starting with four original Xbox games on PC and handheld devices: BLiNX: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy.

According to the official Xbox post, the games will be available to buy on PC and will also be included through Game Pass. If you already own a digital console license for one of them, that license will carry over to PC and handheld devices.

The PC versions are getting a handful of modern display options while keeping the original gameplay intact. Xbox lists 4x resolution, VSync support, fullscreen and windowed modes, anisotropic filtering, and improved anti-aliasing among the upgrades.

Achievements aren’t ready at launch, but Xbox says they’ll be added to these titles in the coming months.

Jason Ronald, Xbox’s VP of next generation, described this as the start of a wider push to preserve older Xbox games and bring more of them to PC over time. For now, it’s a small first batch, but it’s a notable shift for a backward compatibility program that has mostly been tied to Xbox consoles until now.
