WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.5 Brings Labyrinths, Aqir Invasions, and a Kith’ix Raid

World of Warcraft’s Midnight patch 12.1.5 is headed to the PTR with a new story chapter, a one-boss raid, a larger spin on Delves called Labyrinths, and hourly outdoor events in Eversong and Zul’Aman.

The update continues the Quel’thalas and Zul’Aman storyline with “The Promise of Tomorrow,” which leads into The Unbinding of Kith’ix, a single-boss raid set beneath the Vaults of Ula’tek. Players will fight Kith’ix alongside Lady Liadrin as the campaign reaches its finale.

  • Labyrinths are the big new activity, built for players who like Delves but want something larger and more dungeon-like. They can be cleared in one long run or tackled in pieces, with Valeera Sanguinar acting as the companion for the first Labyrinth.
  • The first Labyrinth is Kindo’jan, an old Amani funeral complex now being picked over by looters and Vilebranch while its spirits fight back.
  • Aqir Invasions are zone-wide public events that happen in Eversong or Zul’Aman for 10 minutes every hour. Players complete objectives across the area, then take on a boss at the end.
  • Those invasions can include combat and non-combat scenarios, plus affixes such as burrowing aqir, void spheres, elite enemies, swarms, and web-weaving enemies that need to be interrupted.

Patch 12.1.5 also brings back the Ascendant Voidcore-style progression item under a new name: Ascendant Venomstones. After the update launches, players can start the “Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom” quest from Orin Straylight near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City.

Once unlocked, Ascendant Venomstones will drop from Heroic and Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ Keystone dungeons at +10 and above, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests. Collecting 10 lets players upgrade a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Mythic, or top-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket, or necklace.

Blizzard hasn’t listed a live release date in the provided details, but the patch is being opened for PTR testing.
