WoW Forever Hotfix Removes Invite-a-Friend Restrictions as Blizzard Tracks Launch Issues
Blizzard has opened a known issues thread for World of Warcraft: Forever following its November 4 launch, with the first public list updated on November 5. It’s not meant to cover every bug in the game, but it does flag problems the team considers notable and already has on its fix list.
The most immediate fix is for players who joined through an Invite-a-Friend code. A live hotfix has removed unintended restrictions that were blocking those players from using some chat channels, leveling past 10, joining guilds, forming parties, or trading with others. Blizzard says affected players may need to log out and back in.
There’s also a temporary workaround for boats and zeppelins going missing for long stretches. Blizzard has placed portals near most transport docks or inside zeppelin towers so players can still travel between continents. The team said a proper fix was planned for the morning after the issue was acknowledged, with the portals to be removed once that fix is confirmed working.
Current known issues include a mix of quest, UI, dungeon, and world problems:
- PvP vendors are temporarily unavailable in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Dalaran.
- The Ashenvale quest “Vorsha the Lasher” has been disabled while Blizzard works on a crash bug.
- Players can get stuck in a cauldron near Roogug in Razorfen Kraul.
- Bank pages are displaying incorrectly, with tabs appearing outside the frame.
- Stormwind Keep’s entrance may show unintended flashing textures.
- Some gamepad issues remain, including Xbox Elite 3 controller recognition and paddle binding problems.
Blizzard also said some areas don’t feel as populated as intended and plans to adjust numbers to make cities feel livelier. For now, the post-launch cleanup is mostly focused on access problems, broken travel, and a few bugs that can stop quests or regular play.
