WoW Forever Beta Raises Level Cap to 30 and Adds Wetlands Dungeon

A new WoW Forever beta build is live, and the headline change is simple: players can now level to 30. The update also adds a new dungeon, Excavation Site: Wetlands, tuned for levels 26 to 31.

The build opens up a few more dungeon options too. Razorfen Downs is now available at 25+, while Uldaman opens at 30+. They join the beta’s existing dungeon lineup, which already includes The Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Scarlet Monastery, Gnomeregan, Razorfen Kraul, and others.

  • The level cap has increased to 30.
  • Excavation Site: Wetlands has been added as a level 26 to 31 dungeon.
  • Razorfen Downs and Uldaman are now accessible.
  • Barbershops have been added in Darnassus and Thunder Bluff, with guards now giving directions.
  • Dungeon quests now grant 50% less bonus XP beyond normal quest values.
  • PvP gear and upgrade token Honor costs are up by about 50%, while the Honor cap rises from 15,000 to 25,000.

Class tuning is a big part of this build, though the notes are too long to treat every number change equally. Druids get several Feral adjustments, including the removal of Tiger’s Fury and new Shifting Power talents. Hunters get Aggressive Mode back for pets. Mages see scroll balance changes, including no longer being able to cast them while moving. Warriors receive a broad pass across Rage generation, Fury talents, and Protection tree placement.

There are also smaller but useful fixes across the beta. Rain visibility has been improved, the Ray Traced Shadows option has been removed until it works properly, and weapon display sizes have been adjusted across races. Gamepad support has been updated for stables, compact raid and party frames, and action bar macro movement.

The build includes plenty of quest and world cleanup as well, with respawn changes in zones like Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood, and Thousand Needles. The team also lists several known issues, including spell chaining animation problems, enemies sometimes parrying or blocking from behind at close range, and the current install size being larger than intended.
