WoW August 31 Hotfixes Adjust Mythic Coiled Altar and Ula’tek During Race to World First

Blizzard pushed a fresh round of World of Warcraft hotfixes on August 31, with the biggest changes aimed at The Venomous Abyss raid while the Race to World First is still playing out. Mythic Coiled Altar and Ula’tek both saw bug fixes and tuning changes, including a 20% reduction to the Defilement of the Coiled Altar healing absorb on Mythic difficulty.

As usual with WoW hotfixes, some changes are live immediately, while others may need realm restarts. A few issues still require full client patches, so not everything can be handled through server-side updates.

  • In The Coiled Altar, Blizzard fixed a rare Mythic bug where Coalesced Venoms could spawn inside a Virulent Mutation rim.
  • Soul Sever should now correctly show which Manifestations of Dread will be destroyed.
  • Defilement of the Coiled Altar’s healing absorb has been reduced by 20% on Mythic.
  • Ula’tek’s egg-carrying damage is now treated as periodic damage instead of direct damage.
  • Ula’tek also had fixes for Blight Vein and Toxic Burn dealing extra damage in some cases.
  • Grasping Fangs has a longer range, and a bug causing Ula’tek to re-emerge during intermission has been corrected.

The patch also cleans up several class bugs. Unholy Death Knights had issues fixed around Dread and Virulent Plague Erupt interactions with multiple damage modifiers. Restoration Druids should see Grove Guardians better prioritize Swiftmend and Wild Growth targets, and Everbloom should now hit the intended five targets instead of six.

Fire Mages, Mistweaver Monks, Holy Priests, and Affliction Warlocks also received targeted fixes. Outside raid and class changes, the Gnarldor Isle Delve objective for Minchi’s Osseous Adventure now asks players to investigate four bone piles instead of six, and Housewarming housing quest groups have been moved to the Questing section of the Premade Group Finder.
