World of Warships kicks off its Lunar New Year events with Nian Paradox and Unbreakable Front

World of Warships is rolling out its Lunar New Year content in update 15.1, with a new limited-time event called Nian Paradox, a fresh Event Pass, and the return of the Unbreakable battle event with some notable rule changes. Most of it starts tomorrow at 1:00 a.m. PT.

The big Lunar New Year centerpiece is Nian Paradox. You’ll pick a side, complete combat missions, and earn Lunar Tokens to spend on rewards. The event runs until April 7, and it’s framed around two factions: Defenders of Order and Adherents of Chaos.

Each side has its own progression track and rewards, and you can stick with one track or work through multiple. Wargaming says Lunar Tokens can be used to earn up to four ships, including one Tier X ship, or alternatively five ships that aren’t Tier X, without paying.

On top of that, a Lunar Login gift will be available during update 15.1, and the Lunar New Year Event Pass is live for a month, ending March 11.

Unbreakable Front also opens tomorrow. It’s still built around the same general idea as last year’s Unbreakable Line, but with new mechanics aimed at keeping you in the action. If you get sunk, you can choose a response sector when you respawn, and respawns now happen within map borders to get you back into fights faster.

Matches are now 7v7 using Tier VIII to X cruisers, battleships, and destroyers, with a 15-minute timer. Maps also include team bases, and capturing the enemy base is an instant win (points victories are still on the table, too). More details are in the patch announcement.
