World of Warcraft’s Curse of Ula’tek update adds housing blueprints and indoor pets

Blizzard has outlined the housing changes coming with World of Warcraft’s Curse of Ula’tek update, and the big additions are aimed squarely at players who’ve been deep in the decorating tools. According to the official post, players will be able to save and share housing layouts, place companion pets in their homes, and build a bit further with the house level cap going up to 12.

The new Blueprint system is probably the headline feature. It lets players save a single room, the interior, the exterior, or an entire home, then swap back to that layout later. Blueprints can also be shared through codes, including in chat, so other players can inspect or import a design before committing to it. The import screen shows required rooms, decor, budget, missing items, and other details first.

• A new export permission starts set to “no one” by default.
• A reset option can send items back to storage for the whole house, interior, or exterior.

Pets are coming inside through Pet Beds, sold by Perry Winkles in Founder’s Point and Agratha in Razorwind Shores. Each bed costs 50 gold, with options like the Cherished Pet Rug, Cozy Bird Nest, Crossroads Pet Cage, and Silvermoon Dragonhawk Incubator. Players can place up to 100 Pet Beds indoors and 25 outdoors. Indoor pets can be stationary or roaming, while outdoor pets are stationary for now.

The update also raises house levels to 12, which means higher limits and larger exterior options as players keep expanding. New Artisanal Room plans are being added for orc, human, night elf, and blood elf styles, sold for Community Coupons through neighborhood vendors, with cross-faction room styles available through smugglers.

Dyes are getting cleaned up too. Old dye pigments and housing dye items will convert through in-game mail, dyeable decor will show available colors without needing separate items for every shade, and alchemists and scribes will be able to turn herbs directly into housing dyes at dye stations. Blizzard is also adding new decor categories for Vines, Hanging Plants, and Pet Beds, plus the option to move an entry room elsewhere in the house, including to another floor.
