World of Warcraft: Forever adds new race and class combos, including Undead Paladins
World of Warcraft: Forever is opening up character creation with a wider set of race and class combinations, including a few picks that longtime players will notice right away: Orc Mages, Undead Paladins, Human Hunters, Gnome Priests, Dwarf Shamans, and Troll Warlocks.
The update also introduces the Skyborne as a new playable race. They’re split by faction flavor, with Horde-aligned Windshapers tied to Shaman options and Alliance-aligned High Order Skyborne tied to Mages. Based on the provided class tables, Skyborne characters can also roll several other classes depending on faction, including Druid, Hunter, Rogue, and Warrior.
World of Warcraft: Forever is keeping the class lineup to nine options: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior. The big change here isn’t a new class, but more freedom in pairing familiar races with roles that weren’t previously available in this version of Azeroth.
Some of the notable newly available combinations include:
- Orc Mage
- Troll Warlock
- Undead Paladin
- Human Hunter
- Gnome Priest
- Dwarf Shaman
Racial traits are also being adjusted for Forever. The source material lists updated or returning abilities such as Orcs getting Blood Fury and Shatter Curse, Undead keeping Will of the Forsaken and Cannibalize, Humans getting Will to Survive and Perception, and Skyborne receiving Walk on Air, which lets them glide downward for 10 seconds.
The material doesn’t include a release date or pricing details. For now, the main takeaway is clear: Forever is making character creation less restrictive, while using racial trait updates to support those new class options.
