World of Tanks update 2.2.1 adds three more Tier XI tanks and brings back Onslaught

World of Tanks has rolled out update 2.2.1, also called Full Charge, and the big addition is three more Tier XI tanks: the Fauteur, Gorilla, and Executor. Each comes with its own special ability, including the Gorilla’s option to fire again before it’s fully reloaded.

According to the official post, the update also reworks a few existing Tier XI vehicles, refreshes three maps, and brings back the Onslaught mode. Returning players also have a limited-time Welcome Back program running through May 7.

  • Three new Tier XI tanks have been added: Fauteur, Gorilla, and Executor
  • Some existing Tier XI tanks have been adjusted
  • Serene Coast, Pearl River, and Klondike have been overhauled
  • New navigation tips now point players toward useful positions on maps
  • Onslaught has returned
  • The Welcome Back event for returning players runs until May 7

The map changes are focused on Serene Coast, Pearl River, and Klondike, though the source doesn’t go into much detail here beyond saying they’ve been improved. The new navigation tips seem aimed at helping players learn where to position and what areas are worth contesting, which should be especially useful for anyone still getting used to the game’s maps.

For regular players, the Tier XI additions are the main draw. For lapsed players, the timing is a little more obvious: there’s a returner program live now, plus Onslaught is back in rotation.
