Wildkin Opens Free Browser Beta With 52 Creatures to Catch
Wildkin, a free-to-play pixel-art creature-catching RPG, is now in open beta and playable directly in a browser. There’s no download or purchase required, though players need to create a free account if they want their progress to save.
The game starts players in a village in Fernhaven, then sends them out across four regions to catch and train 52 creatures in a shared online world. Current multiplayer features include local chat and arena duels, with more content planned as beta development continues.
Wildkin’s setup is pretty familiar if you’ve spent time with monster-catching games: choose a starter, explore new areas, build a team, and work through region-based challenges. The announced starters are Petalimp, a Leaf-type creature, plus Cindlet and Mirekip.
The beta does have a technical requirement worth noting. Players need a WebGPU-capable browser with hardware acceleration enabled, so it may not run on every older machine or browser setup.
The world currently includes areas such as The Woodlands, Tidecross on the coast, Emberfall’s highlands trials, and Stillmere, which leads toward the Spirit Emblem. Since it’s still in beta, expect the usual rough edges and ongoing updates rather than a finished launch version.
