Wildercrown Shows RuneScape-Inspired Skilling, Stock Trading, and Big Raid Plans in Kickstarter Trailer
Toronto studio Talk Alice Labs has released a new trailer for Wildercrown, a RuneScape-inspired MMO currently in development for Windows on Steam. A Kickstarter pre-launch page is now live, with the campaign aiming for CA$50,000 to help finish the Windows version through more content work, playtesting, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
Wildercrown is built around familiar MMO basics: train skills, gather materials, craft better gear, take on quests, and push into tougher dungeons. The current development build includes 15 skills, along with fishing, cooking, crafting, equipment progression, quests, and dungeon combat. The game isn’t publicly playable yet, though the studio says future playtests will be announced through its Discord.
One of the stranger features already working in the build is the Great Exchange, an in-game stock market. Players can use crowns to buy and sell shares in 50 fictional companies, study charts, place orders, and manage a portfolio. It’s a more economic-minded spin on MMO progression, rather than just another auction house.
Talk Alice Labs is also laying out some large-scale plans for the full game, including more than 500 dungeons, 1,000 bosses, and 50-player PvE raids. A separate Underground Mines mode is planned for 10-player groups hunting ore and treasure in tunnels and caverns, while Kingdom Wars is pitched as a territory-focused PvP mode built around player alliances.
Other planned features include housing, pets, mounts, early motorcars for travel, large cities, and NPCs designed to remember players between visits. After launch, the studio says most proposed new features will go to a player vote and need at least 66% approval before moving forward.
Wildercrown’s planned membership price is CA$15 per month. Kickstarter backer packs will include membership time and founder discounts, with full details coming when the campaign opens.
