Where Winds Meet launches on Xbox and Game Pass, with Hidden Mountain expansion teased

Where Winds Meet is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud, with a day-one spot in the Xbox Game Pass library. Everstone Studio marked the launch during the Xbox Games Showcase by showing the next major expansion for the free-to-play wuxia open-world ARPG, Hidden Mountain.

The studio says Where Winds Meet has passed 80 million players worldwide since its original debut. The game is set in 10th-century China and mixes solo exploration, co-op, PvP, martial arts combat, and weapon-based action across an open world.

Hidden Mountain will be the game’s third major expansion, following Hexi and Imperial Palace. Everstone hasn’t given a release date in the provided announcement, but the reveal focused on a new mountainous region built around vertical exploration, with layered terrain, traversal challenges, secrets, and hidden areas.

The expansion also introduces the Mohist Sect, a faction based high in the peaks. Everstone is tying the group to new story threads, martial arts mechanics, and gameplay loops, though the announcement keeps most of the specifics under wraps.

Players will also get a new Hand Guard discipline, described as a close-range martial art built around fast pursuits, counter-attacks, and a heavy finishing strike powered by accumulated inner will.

For the Xbox launch, Where Winds Meet includes Smart Delivery support, a reworked UI with larger text for TV play, HDR, AMD FSR 2 upscaling, and memory optimizations aimed at keeping performance steady during exploration and combat. There’s also a custom Xbox Wireless Controller themed around the game.

Game Pass members can claim a starter pack during the first phase of perks, running June 7 through July 23 PT. It includes 450 Echo Jade, 90,000 Coins, and progression items such as Attune Stones, Lingering Melodies, and Pillow Pills.
