Wayfinder is free to try on Steam this week, and it just got a Battle Chasers cosmetic mod pack
Wayfinder, the co-op action RPG from Airship Syndicate, is running a free play period on Steam through January 29. If you’ve been curious, you can download it and mess around with different Wayfinders, builds, and co-op without buying in.
Alongside the free trial, the game is also discounted by 70% on Steam until February 2, with DLC marked down as well. The free play and sale are both live on the Steam page. While the free trial has boosted the game’s concurrent playerbase from a peak of ~100 on Steam to ~835, the game’s numbers are off significantly since its early access launch in 2023 when it peaked at 24,712 players.
This also ties into the game’s growing mod support. Airship Syndicate opened official mod support on the beta branch back in September, with player-made mods distributed through Mod.io. Creators can grab the mod kit and editor via the Epic Games Store.
To show off what’s possible, the studio also released a new cosmetics mod called the Battle Chasers mod, a nod to Airship Syndicate’s earlier game, Battle Chasers: Nightwar. It includes skins that swap Wayfinder characters into Battle Chasers characters, with pairings like Garrison as Silo, Venomess as Red Monika, and Kyros as Knolan.
If you want the full rundown and screenshots, Airship Syndicate posted details in a Steam announcement. You’ll need to opt into the mod branch to test mods like this one.
