ESO PTS lets players try the new Tamriel Tomes reward system ahead of Season Zero

The Elder Scrolls Online players can now get an early hands-on look at Tamriel Tomes, the game’s new battle pass-style reward system, via this week’s Public Test Server update. Tamriel Tomes is slated to arrive with Season Zero in April.

Tamriel Tomes is set to replace and roll in pieces of existing reward tracks, including daily login rewards and Endeavors. The system will have a free track plus two paid options, Premium and Premium+. Players earn Tome Points through activities like weekly and seasonal challenges, then use those points to unlock “pages” and pick rewards.

One notable twist is that rewards aren’t locked to a strict order. You can unlock specific rewards based on what you want, rather than working down a linear track. Another key difference is how long you have to finish: the free version has to be completed during the active season, while Premium and Premium+ can be completed later.

Zenimax is clear that what’s on the PTS right now is a simplified test version, not the final release build for the upcoming Season of Dawn and Dusk, which is currently dated for April 2. The idea is to let players see how points and reward unlocks work and to gather feedback before the full rollout.

This week’s PTS update also adds new character templates for testing in The Night Market, along with all three relics used in that zone. Templates let players create a character and run through the full event zone without needing the keys that would normally be required.

More details, including the full notes and how to access the test, are in the announcement.
