Warframe Devstream 192: The Shadowgrapher hits in March, and Wall-Running 3.0 is canceled

Digital Extremes used Warframe Devstream 192 to outline what’s next for the game, including a standalone content update called The Shadowgrapher coming in March. The stream also confirmed a set of improvements for Vauban (plus an Heirloom), and brought one piece of disappointing news for long-time parkour fans.

That bad news: Wall-Running 3.0 is no longer happening. The team said they tried to rework wall-running, but changes kept creating new problems to solve. Instead of a full revamp, Digital Extremes says it will look at smaller ways to tweak Warframe’s existing parkour systems.

As for March, The Shadowgrapher is being positioned as a “standalone” update, meaning it is not directly tied to The Old Peace. Digital Extremes teased a new mode called “Vesper Relay,” but didn’t fully explain how it works yet. The studio plans to talk more about it during a February Devstream. The stream also included a first look at a new Warframe named Follie, along with deluxe skins for Gauss and Grendel.

Vauban is getting a “re-touch” rather than a full rework. Digital Extremes says the changes focus on better scaling and how his abilities interact, with a notable update to his ultimate, Bastille. Bastille will be able to hold an unlimited number of enemies, though it will cap debuffs. Photon Strike also won’t send Bastille-caught enemies flying anymore. More specifics are in the Devstream 192 overview.

Finally, Digital Extremes reiterated that Warframe’s Android release is close, and players can pre-register. The rollout will start in Canada first, with the rest of the world following a week later.
