Pantheon details its Summoner rework, including pet changes and a revamped Swarm

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is still on track to overhaul its Summoner class next month, and Visionary Realms has now shared a closer look at what’s changing. The studio says the goal is to make the class feel less like a pile of underused spells and more like a true pet-focused “puppet master,” with most of your damage and utility flowing through your summoned Arcamentals.

In a new dev diary, the team calls out common complaints from players: pets not pulling their weight, Swarm being awkward, and the overall kit feeling dull. The rework leans harder into commanding Arcamentals, with distinct roles for each pet. Fury is positioned as the magic-damage option, Zephyr as a fast, close-range physical attacker, and Undine as a support-focused pet with more emphasis on healing, including healing other players.

A few mechanical changes stand out. Swarm is being reworked into a stacking damage-over-time effect. There’s also a new ability called Mana Missiles, which opens a small portal near the target and fires a mana bolt. It can stack up to three times for a DoT, giving you room to concentrate on pet abilities.

Pets are also losing their separate mana pools. Going forward, pet abilities that cost mana will draw from the Summoner’s mana instead.

On the utility side, Visionary Realms says Summoners will get more “bomb” abilities to weave in between pet commands, starting with Clash Bomb joining the existing Mana Bomb. The class is also slated to gain the ability to summon certain non-combat items like consumables, temporary items, light sources, and improved food.

As for progression, Fury and Zephyr will be available at level 1. Titan, the Earth Arcamental, is being temporarily removed and is planned to return later alongside the game’s Masteries system. Visionary Realms has more in its dev diary.
