Trove’s Rematch update brings PvP back with Battle Mode and stat scaling
Trove has brought PvP back with its Rematch update, which folds the old Bomber Royale setup into a broader Battle Mode queue. Players can now queue for Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, and Bomber Royale from the PvP area in the Hub or directly through the navigation menu.
The update also adds a new PvP currency, Battle Coins, earned by playing matches and spent at the renamed Battle Bench. PvP levels have been reset for all players, and new weekly leaderboards track activity for rewards including Battle Coins and temporary Banner styles.
- Battle Mode now includes Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, and Bomber Royale.
- The map pool is up to 35 arenas, split across the different modes.
- Players get reward boxes for their first public PvP match of the day and their first win of the day.
- Leaving an active match early blocks PvP queueing for 30 minutes, though players can leave without penalty if a lobby fails to fill after a few minutes.
- Battle Coins can be spent on new collectibles at the Battle Bench, and can also be converted into Burnt Battle Coins.
One of the bigger mechanical changes is PvP stat scaling. Gear, gems, and class still matter, so stronger characters aren’t being flattened into identical templates. Instead, stats are scaled on a curve: early progression carries over more directly, while very high stats give smaller gains inside matches. The character sheet now shows scaled PvP stats while you’re in a match.
There are balance changes too. Stuns and slows now have diminishing returns, with repeated hits shortening in duration until temporary immunity kicks in. Revenant’s Spirit Spears costs less health to maintain in PvP, and Shadow Hunter can no longer attack through walls in PvP.
Outside of PvP, Rematch adds the Sky Projector and Jukebox for cornerstones, both sold through the in-game store. The patch also includes Tiny Quests fixes, console menu improvements, corrections for missing rewards on some leaderboards, and fixes for rare crashes and disconnects.
