Team Liquid Takes World First Mythic Ula’tek in World of Warcraft
Team Liquid has claimed World First on Mythic Ula’tek, the final boss of The Venomous Abyss raid in World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2. The kill was recorded by Method’s Race to World First tracker at 20:04 BST on September 3, 2026, or 12:04 PM PT.
Echo followed less than half an hour later with World Second at 20:29 BST, after earlier coming painfully close with a 1.23% wipe in Phase 3. Method remains on Ula’tek and is still chasing World Third.
- Liquid (US), 8/8 Mythic
- Echo (EU), 8/8 Mythic
- Method (EU), 7/8, best pull listed at 11.7% in Phase 3 on Ula’tek
- 中洲队 (CN), 7/8, listed at 84.8% in Phase 1 on Ula’tek after taking World 4th on The Coiled Altar
Ula’tek is the Hall of Fame boss for Patch 12.1, The Curse of Ula’tek. The first 200 guilds worldwide to defeat the boss will earn the achievement. The Venomous Abyss is an eight-boss Mythic raid that opened with Midnight Season 2 during the week of August 18 and 19.
The race pushed into a third lockout week. Liquid had taken World First on Mythic The Coiled Altar, the raid’s penultimate boss, on August 30 after 310 pulls. Liquid, Echo, and Method then spent several days working through Ula’tek, with Blizzard applying Mythic-only Phase 2 nerfs on September 2. Those changes reduced Blight Vein damage by 25% and cut Soul Constrictor’s duration to 5 seconds.
According to Method’s coverage, Liquid’s winning pull was clean, beating the enrage timer and finishing the boss during the final Venomous Heart damage amp. Method’s kill post did not list Liquid’s final pull count.
