SWTOR teases Game Update 7.8.1 “Master’s Enigma,” with new story and Galactic Season 10
Broadsword used its first Star Wars: The Old Republic livestream of the year to tease Game Update 7.8.1, “Master’s Enigma,” which is currently slated for March. According to the official post, the update continues the Mandalorian conflict thread and brings Darth Jadus back into the picture, alongside more digging into Darth Nul and her research ship, The Enigma.
There’s no exact release date yet, but one piece of the patch is time-locked: the Spring Abundance festival is set to start March 10. That makes it a decent guess that 7.8.1 lands around then, though Broadsword hasn’t confirmed it.
Outside the story, 7.8.1 adds a couple of new Date Night missions, this time for Torian Cadera and Kira Carsen. It also kicks off Galactic Season 10, “Secrets of the Syndicate.”
A couple of notes for launch: French and German voiceover won’t be ready when the patch goes live. Players using those languages will get localized text, but they’ll hear English VO until the missing audio is added later.
Broadsword also reiterated what’s next after this. Update 7.9, “Legacy Reborn,” is planned for later this spring and is being positioned as the finale for Legacy of the Sith. The studio says its next big dev stream is aimed for late April or early May, and it’s expected to include the first details on 8.0 features.
7.8.1 also includes new flora-themed decorations in the Cartel Market and a new 60-day subscription bundle that comes with Cartel Market currency and a stipend.
