Star Trek Online: Undiscovered Is Out Now on PC, With Consoles Coming July 29
Star Trek Online’s new Undiscovered season is live now on PC, with PlayStation and Xbox versions set to follow on July 29. The update kicks off a reworked version of “The Ultimate Klingon,” one of the MMO’s older story arcs, and brings back Robert Picardo as the Doctor and Lisa LoCicero as Lieutenant Miral Paris.
The new season sends players back to 2409 for “The Kuvah’Magh,” the first episode in the rebuilt Klingon arc. The story centers on a push for peace between the Federation and the Klingons, with Ambassador B’vat once again causing trouble behind the scenes.
- The new episode, “The Kuvah’Magh,” starts the reimagined Klingon storyline and features Miral Paris and the Doctor.
- Deep Space Encounters have been refreshed as repeatable Sector Space activities with randomized objectives, enemies, and environments across the Alpha, Beta, and Delta Quadrants.
- The Undiscovered event lets players earn progress by playing the new episode, Deep Space Encounters, or selected Task Force Operations.
- The main event reward is the K’Vort Temporal Flight Deck Raptor, a Klingon warship that includes the Hunting Pack Escorts universal console, Imperial Pressure starship trait, and Rapid Fire Disruptor Heavy Emitter experimental weapon.
The Deep Space Encounter changes are probably the biggest gameplay-side addition here. Instead of being a static bit of travel filler, the system now offers repeatable missions in Sector Space, with bonus Endeavor XP and daily event progress attached.
Undiscovered also lands during Star Trek’s 60th anniversary year, and Cryptic is clearly using the season to update some of Star Trek Online’s older material for current players. The game has been running for more than 16 years, so this is less a simple rerun and more a rebuild of an early-era storyline with newer mission tools and presentation.
