EVE Vanguard’s Operation Avalon Alpha Is Live Through July 20
EVE Vanguard’s latest alpha test, Operation Avalon, is now live and runs through July 20. The test is free to access through the EVE Launcher and Steam, and it comes with a tie-in event in EVE Online.
This is a bigger public step for CCP’s sci-fi extraction shooter, following last year’s pre-alpha tests. Operation Avalon brings revised gunplay, weapon changes, new enemy behavior, and more reasons for Warclones to drop onto planets across New Eden.
The gunplay has been reworked, with CCP aiming for heavier, more grounded weapon feel. The test also adds five weapons that players can buy or build, including a laser pulse DMR, scatter cannon, and bolt carbine.
Enemies are getting attention too. Mordu’s Legion should be more responsive in this build, with additional unit types meant to put more pressure on squads during surface operations.
The EVE Online crossover is tied to the larger Avalon storyline. Vanguard players are hunting for tech and intelligence on the ground, while capsuleers in EVE Online can raid convoys and collect Vanguard tokens. Those tokens can be traded to vendors to influence where Avalon, described as a future sanctuary for Warclones, will eventually be established.
Operation Avalon is available now and remains open until July 20.
