Nexon Takes Over Overwatch PC Publishing in South Korea on August 12

Blizzard is moving PC publishing duties for Overwatch in South Korea to Nexon next month. The player migration is scheduled for August 12, the same day the game’s fourth season begins in the region.

Players can already start the process. Registration and account linking opened on July 7, giving Korean PC players a little over a month to prepare before the switch happens.

The move follows an earlier publishing agreement between Blizzard and Nexon aimed at running a more locally tailored version of Overwatch for Korean players. Blizzard will keep control of the Overwatch IP and continue leading game development, while Nexon will handle local live service operations and business management.

Both companies also said they plan to hire more local staff to support the Korean service. No broader platform changes were mentioned in the source, so for now this appears focused on Overwatch’s PC publishing setup in South Korea.
