Star Citizen’s Foundation Festival Brings Five Free Fly Ships for New Players

Star Citizen’s Foundation Festival is back, and this year’s Free Fly is giving new players more than the usual single loaner ship. During the event, players can try five starter-focused vehicles for free, covering cargo hauling, mining, courier work, and salvage.

The event is also tied to Cloud Imperium’s updated Guide System, which pairs newer players with veterans for in-game help. According to the official event page, the refreshed system includes better notifications and RSI integration.

  • Drake Cutter, a small cargo ship with weapons
  • RSI Aurora MK II, a classic starter ship
  • Drake Golem, an entry-level mining ship
  • Crusader Intrepid, a courier and cargo option
  • RSI Salvation, built around salvage with extendable salvage arms

Each of the five ships also has a Foundation Festival package with a discount, paint, two-year insurance, starting credits, and a digital download of Star Citizen. The listed prices sit roughly in the $45 to $68 range.

Veteran players have a reason to jump in too. Guides who use the Guide System during the festival, play for at least 30 minutes, and receive a successful endorsement can earn event rewards. There are also paints tied to helping across the available guide categories.

Cloud Imperium is running a referral bonus alongside the event as well. Per the referral bonus announcement, new recruits get a “Ready for Anything” Career Kit, while the referring player gets an Argo ATLS power suit for cargo handling.
