Star Citizen alpha 4.7 adds Rockcracker missions, crafting, and ship combat changes next week

Cloud Imperium has outlined what’s coming in Star Citizen alpha 4.7, which the studio says is due sometime next week. The update’s big additions include new Breaker Station missions tied to Rockcracker, the first version of in-game crafting, inventory UI changes, and a batch of ship combat tweaks.

According to the latest Inside Star Citizen video, the new Breaker Station content will include both PvE and PvP variants. On the ship side, alpha 4.7 also changes armor, radar, and missile blast damage, which could have a noticeable effect on how fights play out once the patch is live.

The video also points to a wider set of additions beyond the headline features. Cloud Imperium teased new factions, new space stations, new armor sets, and expanded salvage contracts as part of the 4.7 rollout.

Some content is planned for follow-up patches after the initial release. That includes the redesigned Hull-B, the Greycat UTV, and new Nyx missions, with courier and delivery jobs returning there as well.

The segment ends with a brief tease for what looks like another new ship, but there aren’t any real details on that yet. More information is apparently being saved for the next episode.

Star Citizen remains in alpha, so exact timing and feature scope can still shift, but 4.7 looks set to be one of the game’s more system-heavy updates in the near term.
