Star Citizen alpha 4.7 adds co-op breaker station missions, crafting, and the Aurora Mk II
Cloud Imperium has rolled out Star Citizen alpha 4.7, and the headline addition is a new team-focused mission type built around QV breaker stations. According to the official post, these missions send players to a derelict station where they’ll fight through hostiles, reactivate the structure, and crack open a large resource rock for harvesting.
The missions come in two versions: a PvE-only “exclusive” format and an open free-for-all PvP version. CIG is pitching them as multi-role jobs, so the ideal group includes combat players, miners, crafters, and haulers rather than just one ship doing everything.
Alpha 4.7 also introduces the first pass of Star Citizen’s crafting system. The new fabricator can make FPS gear like weapons and armor, and item quality depends on the materials and blueprints used. It’s an early version of the system, but it’s now live in the alpha build.
The other big addition is the Aurora Mk II, a refreshed version of one of the game’s oldest starter ships. It supports modular attachments, including options that expand cargo space or add weapons. CIG says the original Aurora Mk I will be phased out on September 30, though it will remain flyable and supported in-game, as noted in the developer Q&A.
That change has already drawn some backlash from backers, especially around upgrade paths and buyback availability for the older ship. CIG is also selling a limited-time Aurora Mk I SE variant for $60.
Outside the headline features, alpha 4.7 includes an updated inventory UI, new hairstyles, four new social stations in the Nyx system, and a batch of ship component changes, balance tweaks, and bug fixes. Star Citizen remains in alpha on PC.
