Soulframe’s Preludes 15 Update Adds World Tree Meet-Ups, Trading, and a New Morningstar

Digital Extremes showed off Soulframe’s next Preludes update during its latest devstream, with Preludes 15 now titled Gods and Ghosts. The update is bringing a new two-handed morningstar, expanded social tools around the World Tree, limited trading, and a handful of smaller quality-of-life additions.

The new weapon is the Vruscht-IX, a heavy morningstar with elemental effects baked into its attacks. The team also showed fresh combat animations and new enemies, including floating drones tied to the ongoing forest-clearing threat.

The bigger practical change may be at the World Tree. Players from other instances will be able to appear nearby when they’re standing by the tree, making it easier to find people, inspect what they have equipped, and invite them into a party. Trading is also on the way, though Digital Extremes says it’ll be limited to faction areas for now.

Animal omens are getting a bit more useful too. After players help them, they’ll show up near login points once every 23 hours and offer a choice of boon. Preludes 15 will also add more universal and faction-specific tempers on dropped weapons, improved foliage rendering, a mailbox feature, and other smaller updates.

The devstream also suggested actor Ben Starr will make his Soulframe debut in the update, though details on his role weren’t laid out. Soulframe will be part of TennoCon in July as well, with another devstream planned after the opening ceremony.
