Sony is raising PS5 prices again in South Korea and Southeast Asia on May 1
Sony is rolling out another round of PlayStation 5 price increases, this time in South Korea and several Southeast Asian markets. The new prices take effect May 1, 2026, following the broader PS5 price hike Sony announced in March for the US, UK, Europe, and Japan.
According to the official post, the changes cover PS5 hardware and, in some regions, PlayStation Portal as well. In South Korea, the digital PS5 jumps from ₩598,000 to ₩858,000, while the standard model goes from ₩748,000 to ₩948,000. The PS5 Pro is also increasing from ₩1.118 million to ₩1.298 million.

- Philippines: PS5 PHP 40,032

Back in March, Sony said it was raising PS5 prices globally due to what it called continued pressure in the global economy. That earlier increase took effect April 2 and added $100 to the standard and digital PS5 in the US, with the PS5 Pro going up by $150. PS Portal also got a price bump.
Sony has raised PS5 prices before in some territories, but this latest stretch means more regions are now getting hit. The company hasn’t clarified in this update whether every model will be sold in every listed market, and the source material also doesn’t say how much each Southeast Asian price changed from the previous local retail price.
