RuneScape Opens Moonrise Dig Site and Sets Late 2026 Jagex Account Deadline
RuneScape’s Moonrise Dig Site is live now as part of the Havenhythe update, giving Archaeology players a new temple to explore, new collections to complete, and several rewards to chase. Players will need to have finished the Secrets of Amberfell quest before they can access it.
According to the official post, Moonrise adds a new Guthixian cultural category, five materials, a new soil type, 15 artefacts across two collections, and five mysteries tied to the temple’s long-standing guardian. There’s also a new pet, for anyone prepared to keep digging.
The update’s notable rewards include Hungry Like the Wolf, a relic that improves food by increasing healing and removing adrenaline penalties. Players can also craft a new Necromancy ritual ring using materials from the temple and a moonstone ring. That ring boosts Soul Attraction and disturbance rewards during rituals.
Jagex also shared another reminder about its move to Jagex Accounts. In a separate account transition update, the studio says more than 85% of active RuneScape and Old School RuneScape players are already using them.
For everyone else, the full switch is planned for late 2026, with Jagex currently aiming for November or December. The studio says it’s continuing launcher work so all supported platforms are ready before the transition becomes mandatory.
