RuneScape: Dragonwilds Hits 1.0 With Console Launch, Crossplay, and Kuldra Boss Fight
RuneScape: Dragonwilds has left Early Access and launched its 1.0 release today, September 15, 2026. The survival crafting spin-off is now available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Jagex Launcher.
The 1.0 update also adds crossplay, letting players host multiplayer worlds that can be joined across platforms. Crossplay can be toggled when loading a world, and dedicated servers now have a crossplay option as well. Invite codes are supported too.
- Console support has been added for PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
- The new Scorned Wilderness region is live, with a buildable area called The Hub and a raid area where building is disabled.
- A new quest, Regicide, has been added.
- Kuldra, the God-Eater, is the new endgame boss.
- New enemies include Black Dragons, several Black Knight variants, Garou foes, demons, skeletons, and goblins.
- New gear includes Rune, Black Dragonhide, Ancestral, Dragon, and Kuldra equipment, plus the Dragon Scimitar.
- Wands have been added as a faster, more mobile magic weapon type.
Jagex says the launch is the first time a RuneScape title has appeared on consoles in the series’ 25-year history. The game also sold more than 1.5 million copies during its 18-month Steam Early Access run.
On the subscription side, Dragonwilds is available day one through Xbox Game Pass Premium, Ultimate, and PC Game Pass, as well as PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Physical editions are planned for Q4 2026.
The update includes some broader gameplay changes too, including better performance for large bases, combat camera and movement tweaks, controller remapping, updated special attacks, parry follow-ups, and new moderation tools for reporting worlds and players.
Players can also earn a Dragonwilds Twitch Badge by watching 30 minutes of RuneScape: Dragonwilds on Twitch from now through October 4. Jagex says the next update, Luminance, is planned for this winter with a new building kit, while the 2027 roadmap will be shown during October’s RuneFest.
