Guild Wars 2’s Code of Creation Update Is Live With a New Map, Raid, and Legendary Sword

Posted on by

Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity gets its final quarterly release today with Code of Creation, wrapping up the expansion’s story arc and adding a new map, Leyspring Hollows. The update also brings six story chapters, a new fractal, a raid encounter, a convergence, and another round of Wizard’s Vault rewards.

The big endgame addition is Nexus of Eternity, which appears as both a raid encounter and a convergence. There’s also a new fractal called Solitary Throne, plus a new legendary sword, Wages of Stars, for players chasing long-term crafting goals.

  • New map: Leyspring Hollows
  • Six new story chapters
  • New fractal: Solitary Throne
  • New raid and convergence: Nexus of Eternity
  • New legendary sword: Wages of Stars
  • New mastery line: Rift Amplification

Rift Amplification is the new mastery line tied to this release. It expands how players interact with rifts, starting in Castora and eventually applying more broadly across Tyria. Players can use Rift Tears to jump closer to active rifts, and later overcharge rifts with matching motivations for tougher fights and extra rewards.

There are new cosmetics and account rewards as well. Playing through the story awards the Tenebral Ward armor set, while the Shining Ward weapon set can be crafted. Nexus of Eternity adds new combat tonics and the Volatile Ascension infusion, which can also drop from the convergence.

The Wizard’s Vault has also been refreshed with the Gwyl Knight weapon set, more Ward Hunter armor pieces, and the Bird Pond Chair. ArenaNet says Wizard’s Vault rewards will keep rotating on a similar cadence while expansions pause for Hall of Monuments and quality-of-life updates. Older cosmetics will stay in the Legacy tab.

Twitch Drops are running now through September 20 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific. Watching Guild Wars 2 streams for up to six total hours unlocks an Item Booster, Mini Piglet, How to Dance, Volume 1, and the new Arcane Occultist’s Hat.
