RuneScape Dragonwilds adds dedicated servers as Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era gets an early access date
A few multiplayer testing updates stood out this week, led by RuneScape Dragonwilds. The survival spinoff’s latest patch adds dedicated servers and new quest content in Dowdun Reach, which should make group play a lot easier for anyone who doesn’t want to rely on player-hosted sessions.
Elsewhere, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era now has an early access date. The strategy revival is set to arrive on April 30, 2026. That’s the clearest launch timing the game has had in a while, and it gives longtime Heroes fans an actual date to circle.
Stars Reach also pushed out its Open Horizons alpha update, which changes the onboarding flow by pulling back some of the more guided early-game structure. The basic idea is to give new players a looser start instead of funneling them down a fixed path.
Another notable testing update is Petit Planet, HoYoverse’s cozy multiplayer sim. Closed beta signups are now open, and that test is scheduled to begin on April 21.
A few other testing stories popped up around the same stretch, including more details on Drakantos ahead of its May beta, another look at Star Citizen alpha 4.8, and fresh Soulframe information tied to its Preludes 14 test phase. But if you’re only tracking the biggest immediate changes, it mostly comes down to Dragonwilds getting dedicated servers, Olden Era finally locking in early access, and a couple of upcoming tests getting firm dates.
For players following MMO and multiplayer projects in development, this week was less about huge reveals and more about practical progress. New server options, clearer testing plans, and actual dates. Not flashy, but useful.
