RuneScape Adds Secrets of Amberfell Quest as Player Avatar Update Stays Set for June 8
RuneScape has a new members-only quest this week, Secrets of Amberfell, sending players back into the Havenhythe storyline as Jagex continues building out the Sanguine menace plot. The update is live now, alongside a batch of Dungeoneering tweaks and a short status check on the upcoming Player Avatar update.
Secrets of Amberfell takes players to a quiet village cut off after flooding damaged the bridge to the outside world. From there, the quest follows up on the strange voice that pulled players toward the island and eventually points them toward an SOS from across the river. Jagex lists the quest requirements in the official patch notes.
This week’s patch also makes more adjustments to Dungeoneering after its recent remaster. Jagex says the changes are based on player reports and data gathered since the update went live, though the source post frames them mostly as tuning and fixes rather than another major overhaul.
The Player Avatar update is still planned for June 8, despite a few known technical issues the team is tracking. Players using AMD graphics cards with the latest drivers may run into rendering problems, and Jagex is currently advising affected users to roll back their drivers. Mac users on Intel integrated GPUs may also see missing textures or other graphical problems. The team is also looking into stuttering and framerate drops when moving between areas.
Jagex also posted its June Month Ahead roadmap, which confirms more Havenhythe content is coming soon. A new dig site is planned in the next few weeks, followed later in June by a Waterbirth Island remaster tied to the studio’s next game jam release.
