Roblox Reports $1.6 Billion in Q3 Revenue as AI Tools Drive More Game Creation
Roblox reported its third quarter 2026 results on October 29, with revenue hitting $1.6 billion, up 16% year over year. Bookings came in at $1.7 billion, above the company’s guidance, though that figure was down 12% compared with last year.
The platform also ended the quarter with 138 million daily active users. That’s up 12% from the previous quarter, but down 9% year over year as Roblox compares against a much bigger 2025. Hours engaged reached nearly 34 billion, down 15% year over year and up 17% from Q2.
One of the bigger takeaways from the shareholder letter is how heavily Roblox is leaning into AI creation tools. The company said more than 80% of the top 100 Roblox experiences, ranked by hours engaged, used AI tools over the past month. Daily asset uploads to Roblox’s cloud tripled month over month, and use of AI tools among top creators also tripled since Q2.
Roblox also highlighted Build, its prompt-to-game creation tool. Since its alpha launch in New Zealand, Singapore, Serbia, and Thailand, more than 500,000 users have tried it, publishing over 70,000 games. The company said two games made almost entirely with AI, Break and Steal an Egg and Huss Valley, reached Roblox’s top 20 by concurrent players during the quarter.
Looking ahead, Roblox outlined two major platform plans. Roblox Everywhere is meant to let creators publish standalone Roblox-made games to outside app stores, with the first phase planned for the first half of next year through select top games. The Universal Player is a longer-term idea aimed at bringing existing console, PC, and mobile games into Roblox’s cloud platform with support for multiplayer, cross-device play, discovery, safety, communication, and monetization tools.
Roblox’s net loss narrowed to $230 million from $258 million a year ago. Operating cash flow was $395 million, and free cash flow was $364 million. For Q4 2026, the company expects revenue growth of 4% to 12% year over year, while bookings are expected to decline 10% to 15%.
