RIFT datamine points to a new armor set, but only the fox mounts are live so far
RIFT players may have spotted signs of a new armor set in the game files this week, alongside two fox mounts that are now live. A recent datamine turned up what appears to be a new cosmetic set, listed as either the Crimson Dominion Set or Garb of the Nightstalker, according to The Ghar Station’s post.
If it makes it into the game, it would be the first newly added armor set since updates resumed last year. That said, the set wasn’t included in RIFT’s April 28 patch. What did arrive were the two new mounts, Demon Kitsune and Soulborne Kitsune, as confirmed in the official patch notes.
The armor set’s flavor text has also raised some eyebrows. The current description mentions the Shadow Planes and the Astral Realm, which reportedly don’t line up cleanly with RIFT’s established setting. It’s not clear whether that’s placeholder text, a translation issue, or just an error in the file data.
So for now, the practical takeaway is pretty simple: the kitsune mounts are in the live game, while the armor set is still just something found in staged data. As always with datamines, that means it could change before release, or not show up at all.
