RF Online Next Adds 900-Player Albern Warzone and Core Link Progression
Netmarble has rolled out a major RF Online Next update headlined by Albern Warzone, a new large-scale PvP mode that can put up to 900 players on one battlefield. The mode pits three servers from the same World Group against each other, with up to 300 players per server fighting for territory.
Albern Warzone is open to players level 68 and up, and it runs every Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. EST. Each match starts with a 15-minute Occupation Battle, where servers capture sites by destroying Nether Occupation Beacons. The server that lands the final hit claims the site, and the winner is decided by total territory points.
After that, the warzone shifts into a PvE hunting phase that lasts about two hours and 15 minutes. Captured areas become hunting grounds, with better EXP and Credit gains for players fighting in zones held by their own server. Monsters range from level 70 to 94, with bosses up to level 97. Rewards can include Odin MAU Blueprint Fragments, a new Epic Active Skill, rare Tier 6-7 gear, Epic gear and materials, and Tier 4 Epic exclusive equipment.
The update also adds Core Link, a new progression system available starting at level 55. It includes four categories: Fusion Reactor, Predictive Computing Module, Boost Controller, and Armor Expansion Panel. Players enhance each one with dedicated materials, earning Core Link levels and random stat bonuses such as Accuracy, Attack, Fixed Damage, or Defense. Progress can be reset if the rolls don’t go your way.
Guilds get new content too. Guild Expedition Season 3 introduces the Sealed-off Experimentation Zone, where members split into two routes based on attack type. Physical-type Biosuits take one path, while Force-type Biosuits take the other, so coordination matters. There’s also a new Guild Training Ground for penalty-free PvP practice between guild members, with PK activity not recorded in PvP History.
Several limited-time events are running alongside the update ahead of the game’s 100-day celebration. Starting September 23, a 14-day Special Check-In event will hand out five types of Ctrl+Z Coupons for restoring eligible items, and players can work toward the 100-day anniversary Rover appearance, Singara, through event missions.
