Project Gorgon’s Halloween Update Adds Zhia Lian Event, Fox Customization, and Swimming Skill

Project Gorgon’s Halloween update went live on Steam on October 21, bringing back the Zhia Lian holiday event and adding a long-awaited visual revamp for fox players. The Halloween-style event runs through the first week of November and includes more than 100 quests, seasonal rewards, and new high-level content for Vidaria and Statehelm.

The fox update is the big character-facing change here. Players who logged out as a fox will see the new model automatically when they return, and foxes can now customize details like eye size and fur color. The patch notes don’t spell out the full process, but they point players toward a new fox den somewhere in Gazluk Plateau.

  • Animal forms now have access to new cosmetic items, including hats and eyewear. Most are sold by a new Casino NPC named Arnold for Live Event Credits, while others are found elsewhere in the world.
  • Weekly buffs from Barbran have been reworked so everyone shares the same weekly buff once eligible. Completing one of Barbran’s quests also grants one Live Event Credit and a chance at an extra Bonus Buff.
  • Survey maps now place persistent icons on the map and turn your character toward the target when used. Motherlode-style maps are unchanged.
  • A new experimental No-Resell checkbox lets sellers mark player-vendor items so they can’t be resold through vendor stalls after purchase.
  • The new Swimming skill is now in-game, ahead of future underwater content. Players earn Swimming XP by killing monsters while underwater.
  • Angling has been adjusted with faster catch-event timing, fewer required successes for mid-tier fishing, “perfect catch” bonus loot chances, new alchemy potions, cosmetic pets, and high-level work orders.

The fox revamp is also acting as a test run for future animal-form visual upgrades, according to the notes. So while this update is Halloween-themed on the surface, it also lays groundwork for broader cosmetic and underwater systems coming later.
