Pearl Abyss shows off Crimson Desert in a new features overview trailer
Pearl Abyss has released a new “Features” overview trailer for Crimson Desert, offering a quick look at its open-world setup, exploration tools, and combat. The video also introduces the game’s lead, Kliff of the Greymanes, and frames the story around a wider conflict spreading across the continent of Pywel. From the looks of the trailer, the look and feel of Crimson Desert looks similar to Black Desert Online, except with a much stronger emphasis on storytelling.
Alongside the trailer, Pearl Abyss reiterated that Crimson Desert is slated to launch on March 19 for PC and consoles. The game was originally announced back in 2019.
The trailer leans heavily on the basics of what you’ll be doing moment-to-moment: roaming across cities, wilderness, deserts, mountains, and ruins, while taking on quests and fights as you push through the main story. Pearl Abyss also calls out side activities like gathering resources, crafting, and hunting, positioning them as part of the journey rather than separate modes.
Story-wise, the setup centers on the Greymanes being ambushed by a rival group called the Black Bears, leaving Kliff separated from surviving allies and looking to reunite and rebuild.
