Palia teases Royal Highlands expansion, with next update set for March 17
Palia developer Singularity 6 has given players an early look at the game’s next expansion, Royal Highlands. The big addition is a new adventure zone with the same name, though the studio isn’t showing much of it yet beyond a brief theme preview in a mini dev blog.
The tease also helps explain why recent patches have felt a little more spaced out. Singularity 6 said a lot of its focus has been on getting the expansion into shape behind the scenes.
There’s still a regular update on the way before that. Palia’s next update, The Spring Spectacle: Toadstool Tales, is scheduled for March 17, and it’ll send players back to Elderwood while adding more friendship content for Ulfe.
The studio also said more seasonal events are coming up soon. It didn’t attach a date to Royal Highlands itself, so for now this is more of a first confirmation of where Palia is headed next than a full expansion reveal.
For players who haven’t kept up, Palia is the free-to-play life sim and multiplayer crafting game where most of the loop revolves around gathering, decorating, questing, and building relationships with villagers. Royal Highlands looks set to be the next major area added to that mix. The game averages over 3,000 concurrent players on Steam alone as is popular on consoles too.
