MapleStory Classic World closed online test signups are live ahead of April 16 start

Nexon has opened registration for the first online closed test for MapleStory Classic World, its throwback version of MapleStory built around the original game’s older style and feel. Applications are open now through April 7, and the test itself is scheduled to run from April 16 to April 23, according to the official signup page.

Classic World was first revealed last October, and Nexon has shown it off in a few smaller tests and preview events since then. This upcoming run looks like the biggest public-facing test so far, with online access instead of another limited in-person showing.

Nexon says players who took part in last year’s Maple Con LA playtest or the Los Angeles PC Cafe event may be invited back, alongside newly selected applicants. The company hasn’t said how many players it plans to let into this test.

If you want in, this is basically the current window to apply. Beyond the dates and the returning-tester note, Nexon hasn’t shared much else yet about the build or exactly what content will be available during the weeklong test.

I’m personally looking forward to reliving classic MapleStory, but I suspect I won’t get much further than lvl 35, which was the highest I got back when I played pre big-bang.
