Neverwinter’s Sleeping Gods Lie Module Arrives November 17, Ascendant Mode Preview Pushed Back

Posted on by

Cryptic has set November 17 for the launch of Neverwinter’s next module, Module 34: Sleeping Gods Lie, but one of its tougher endgame features is getting a little more time in the oven. The planned October 30 preview test for Ascendant Mode has been canceled, with a new preview weekend now targeted for November 27.

Ascendant Mode is still planned to arrive after the module itself, on December 8. Cryptic says the delay follows closed testing and the Devourer’s Pit Trial preview, with the team deciding it wants more time before putting the mode in front of players.

For players not tracking the preview closely, Ascendant Mode is meant to sit above Master difficulty as an optional weekly challenge. It applies tougher tuning to select Master content, including higher enemy health and damage, plus rotating modifiers across four weeks. At launch, it’ll support up to one Dungeon and one Trial at a time, starting with The Devourer’s Pit.

Rewards will run through a new Bahamut’s Store in Protector’s Enclave, using a decaying weekly currency earned from Ascendant challenges. The store will sell Mythic and Celestial versions of the current module’s chase gear. There’s also an exclusive vanity reward, limited to once per account.

The Module 34 preview is still live on the Mimic Shard and Lurker Shard for PC players. Feedback is being collected until Monday, November 2, 2026 at 7:30 AM PT. As of October 26, Artifact Armor, new rewards, the campaign, battle pass, and lockbox are part of the preview build.

Cryptic has also opened a Neverwinter player survey, running through Monday, November 2, 2026. If enough unique submissions come in, anyone who played between October 26 at 7:30 AM PT and November 2 at 7:30 AM PT will receive account-bound, non-tradeable rewards by the end of December at the latest.

  • 4,000 submissions: Echo of the Crevasse title and Rainbow Goat vanity pet
  • 6,000 submissions: 10 Scrolls of Life, 15 Mount Upgrade Tokens, 15 Companion Upgrade Tokens, plus the 4,000-tier rewards
  • 8,000 or more submissions: Legendary Insignia Choice Pack, plus the earlier rewards
